How This Compares to a Taxi, Rideshare or Public Transit
Taxi: Yellow cabs to and from LaGuardia are metered, not flat rate. The NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission lists a $3.00 initial charge plus 70 cents per fifth of a mile (or per 60 seconds in slow traffic), a $5.00 LaGuardia surcharge and other surcharges, plus tolls and tip. Pickup at the airport adds a $2.00 airport access fee. The total depends on traffic and your route, so you only know it when the ride ends.
Rideshare: Uber and Lyft prices follow demand, so the same trip can cost more at a busy time or in bad weather.
Public transit: According to LaGuardia Airport, the Q70 LaGuardia Link bus is free and runs between Terminals B and C and the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av and 74 St-Broadway subway stations. It is usually the lowest-cost way in, but you transfer to the subway with your luggage.
